You are interested in getting a tattoo of some kinds, or perhaps some forms of body piercing. However, you are not sure about what you wanted to get exactly, right? In this article, we are going to talk about some of the basics of some tattoos kinds which you can choose, as well as the different body piercings so that you can better decide what you might want before you head out to the parlor.


When you start taking a look at the different kinds of tattoos that you can get, you are going to see a lot of different styles. For example, you can choose from what are called Naturalistic, Abstract, Pledge/Memorial/Dedication, Complex Structures and Combinations, and Stylized tattoos. All of these offer something different visually. For examples, here is a simple rundown of what each type is:


Naturalistic - images designed to look as real as possible using proper shading and detailing.


Abstract - usually includes the more archaic designs including Celtic and tribal tattoos.


Pledge/Memorial/Dedication - probably the most popular of all types of tattoos, these can include everything from the classic heart and banner, to military insignia, to remembering loved ones with simple initials.


Complex Structures/Combinations - these are usually the most unique due to the fact that they usually include a collage of different images that have no specific tie-in to one another.


Stylized - these are also very popular as these are images, such as a butterfly or flower, that are more like a fancy outline drawing rather than being a detailed realistic picture.


Now that we've got the basic types of tattoos figured out, it is time to move on to the basic types of body piercings that are available for you to choose from. You can get piercings pretty much anywhere on your body that you'd like including, but certainly not limited to, your ears, tongue, lips, nose, eyebrows, navel, nipples and so on. These are commonly grouped as Ear, Oral, Surface, Nasal, and Abdominal piercings, and you might be surprised where all you can get yourself pierced. It is literally up to your imagination, so go for it!
