Are piercing attractive? There is a great deal of divergent opinion on this. It seems to be that if you come from the "street" especially from the inner cities or the nearby suburban strata surrounding the major population enclaves in the world that piercing is a fashion rage, especially if you are under 30 years old.
Piercings have always been a part of human culture. In many cultures from the past, piercings were a rite of a passage from youth to adulthood and were done to demonstrate affiliation with the tribe. In current times, piercings have become a form of personal expression.
Piercings range from the simple to the complex and care needs to be taken in the areas of more complex piercings because there is an inherent danger of unwanted infection that can be minimized or completely avoided by taking the best practice precautions.Let's examine some of the piercing options:
Single piercings - Piercing an earlobe, one side of the nose, the tongue, one eyebrow, a nipple, and piercing of your private parts.
Double piercings - Piercing both earlobes, both sides of the nose, the tongue combined with the lips, both eyebrows, both nipples, and two places in your private parts.
Of course the obvious difference between single and double piercings is that you have twice the chance of infection with the double piercings; however in some cases, the trauma of piercing is best dealt with as a one-time event, even when two sites are pierced at the same time with the appropriate care as this lessens the total recovery time.
Infection is not so much of a problem as long as you make sure to visit a reputable piercing place that uses sanitary piercing tools. Subsequent infection that can occur after the piercings are minimized by frequent cleaning of the piercing site(s) with the proper cleansing agents and application of fast-healing anti-biotic creams to the site (except for the tongue).
Also it is very important to use hypo-allergenic materials to keep the piercings in place (stainless steel is good to hold the piercings open while they heal and form a permanent hole).
Piercings are definitely a matter of personal taste, but they are more and more acceptable in virtually all parts of modern society. If you have a personal piercing that is hidden by your clothes, the only place you may have a bit of trouble is when you go through the metal detectors at the airport. Otherwise you can have your piercings in secret and no one will know the difference.
If on the other hand your piercings are highly visible on purpose because that becomes a statement of who you are, then you will laugh at the beeps of the metal detectors at the airport. You will relish the idea of a body pat down and being scanned by a metal detecting wand as there is nothing more hilarious, from your point of view, than having the airport scanners (machines and people) have to deal with your gigantic nipple rings!
