If you're like many solo entrepreneurs, you probably cherish your autonomy and love being able to call the shots. But sometimes, as sole proprietors, it can feel like we have too much to do and too little time to do it all.
If you're like most of us, you care deeply about your business. But between updating your website, marketing your business, planning workshops, networking, scheduling meetings with clients, and trouble-shooting computer glitches, it may be a challenge to focus on the core of your business.
The fact is when we're doing everything ourselves, we can become overwhelmed and unproductive. So it's not surprising that at the end of the day, many of us feel exhausted.
The good news is that you can still fly solo, without having to accomplish every last task yourself. How? By surrounding yourself with a supportive team of professionals.
Who you decide to add to your virtual team depends on your talents, strengths, and the amount of your "disposable" income.
For example, I coach solopreneurs, but I've also been a writer for more than 25 years. And I'm fortunate to have a husband who's a professional web designer and developer. So I have a nice "in-house team" for those tasks. But if my circumstances were different, I'd definitely outsource those tasks. That's because, in my opinion, having a professional presence - online and off-line -- is key to attracting clients.
The following is a partial list of professionals you might want to consider hiring to be on your virtual team, if you're struggling to do everything on your own because your workload has become too much of a burden:
Writer or editor who can craft copy for your print materials, website or blog
Editor or proofreader to catch those sneaky errors in your materials
Graphic designer to help you create a winning look for your business
Web designer to create and maintain your website
Troubleshooter for computer problems
Virtual assistants, who can help you with a variety of tasks, depending on their experience and expertise, including updating your website, providing administrative support, and helping you market your business online
Market researchers to help you fine tune your offerings and better reach your target market
The great thing about outsourcing these duties to other professionals is that you'll be more productive, less stressed, and more peaceful. How does that sound to you?
