Toxins are all around us, from the air we breathe to the products we buy and even the very food and water we consume. Toxins are everywhere and there is no way to escape them. What we have to do is realize their sources and ways to limit our exposure. For those toxins that are unavoidable we can help eliminate them with a body cleanse detox.
You can break the sources of toxins into three major categories:
i) External sources of toxins
ii) Internal sources of toxins
iii) Naturally occurring toxins in the body
For this article we will discuss some of the different types of external sources of toxins that we are exposed to on a daily basis:
1) Airborne Contaminants
Airborne toxins affect both indoor and outdoor air quality. Although there is not much we can do to avoid outdoor air toxins from pollution there are some steps we can take to lower our exposure to indoor air toxins. Some sources of indoor air toxins come from stale and stagnant air, toxic fumes from gas appliances and cleaning supplies, off-gassing from paints, carpets and furniture, as well as dust, pollens, mold and other allergens. We can help to reduce the amount of toxins in our air by making proper choices with our products and ensuring there is adequate ventilation and proper exhausting of gas burning appliances.
2) Water Contaminants
Even the cleanest public water system still can contain many containments, from bacteria, chlorine, heavy metals and industrial pollutants. Although a commercial filtration system can help to eliminate some of the contaminants in the water you drink you cannot be sure that you are getting rid of them all.
3) Food Contaminants
Whether you are eating strictly fresh and organic food or your diet is peppered with the occasional packaged foods, you may be exposed to toxins on a daily basis. The foods we eat can contain toxins from agricultural chemicals such as pesticides as well as from additives and preservatives. Washing your fruit and vegetables thoroughly and cutting down on the amount of packaged food you consume will help to lower the amount of toxins you are exposed to.
4) Personal Care Contaminants
Many personal care products, such as toothpaste, shampoos, soaps and deodorants contain contaminants that may get into our system and be stored as toxins in the body. Some of these products are know to contain such toxins as lead and aluminium. Using green or natural products can help to eliminate some of the toxins you are exposed to by your personal care products.
As you can see, we are exposed to a number of different toxins on a daily basis, and although there are some steps we can take to help reduce the amount of those toxins, other than living inside a bubble, there is not much we can do to totally eliminate them all together. Don't fret, as there is still hope to flush them from our systems. A regular body cleanse detox will help to remove those toxins that unfortunately find their way into our system.
